Rizwan Jarral

I still remember the days when I was a student and lived in a village where there was no electricity and no roads till 1996. My passion took me to journalism, when everyone was asking me to go to civil services or some government job, at the time I secured my Bachelor Degree with good marks.

Rizwan Jarral started his career as a Trainee sub-editor in a daily English newspaper but after a year he switched to electronic media and started working as Producer Current Affairs. He has been working in electronic media for the last 14 years at different positions. During his career he worked as a Producer Current Affairs, Documentary Producer, Infotainment Producer and Special Transmission Producer and currently, he is working as Head of  Programming & Digital Media Neo News and Lahore Rang.

He did some special programs during floods in Pakistan and election coverage. He also conducted a series of programs during the Operation Zarb-e-Azb on Waqt News and covered the area of Miran Shah, Mir Ali, Bannu and Taank, when army operations were going on against terrorists. He has witnessed Taliban hide outs, their media centers and Al-Qaeda compound during the visit with Army officials from where Taliban ran their whole terrorist activities. He has a lot of interest in social issues prevailing in our society and now as executive producer and columnist he is focusing more on socio-political issues in Pakistan. Being Head of  Programming & Digital Media Neo News and lahoreRang he has dedicated a show to highlight the issues like Women harassment at workplaces, sectarianism & child abuse and minorities' rights. He has conducted shows regarding child abuse in our society and raised this issue in his columns too, because we don't have proper counseling institutes in Pakistan that can help the victims. So he is trying to educate parents and children on how they can protect their children and make them understand the difference between good touch and bad touch.

While in Pakistani media the TRP (media ratings) sword is always hanging on their heads but he is using the media to educate people to make this society a peaceful place, where everyone can live freely with one's religion and beliefs, where everyone respects each other as a human and not for one's religion or sect.
